The Dreaming Story of Baulu-Wah

The owl hunter built his shelter from paperbark to hide himself and then waited with a spear, looking with big (mook mook) eyes for his prey to come to the waterhole. A dollar bird was sitting nearby watching and waiting to see what the owl would catch. The shelter only hid the owl from the front and the dollar bird was watching him from behind and was making fun of him, laughing, laughing at the hunter, kaka kaka kaka. All the laughing scared the prey away. In his anger, the owl destroyed the shelter, scattering the paperbark everywhere and this is the flat rock at Baulu-Wah, Violet Valley. The dollar bird flew up and up and turned into a rock and this place is called Pinas Rock.
